Man Killed Another Injured in Oakland County Truck Crash
Man Killed Another Injured in Oakland County: A tragic accident in Oakland County has left a 37-year-old Flint man dead after he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing Baldwin Road in Pontiac. According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Friday at approximately 8:38 p.m. near Virginia Avenue.
Details of the Fatal Crash
Authorities have identified the victim as Charles Arnold O’Connor, who was walking outside of a designated crosswalk when a Ford F-150 pickup truck hit him. Emergency responders, along with bystanders, immediately attempted life-saving measures, including CPR, before O’Connor was transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
The pickup truck driver, a 16-year-old girl from Pontiac, was not injured in the collision. Law enforcement officials have stated that there is no immediate evidence suggesting she was speeding or under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident. However, investigators have not ruled out whether impairment may have played a role on O’Connor’s part. An autopsy has been scheduled as the investigation remains ongoing.
