At approximately 1:15 a.m., Canton Township police responded to a pedestrian accident at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Haggerty Road. Upon arrival, officers found that a 21-year-old Detroit man, driving a silver Acura westbound on Michigan Avenue, had collided with a 39-year-old Canton woman who was crossing the street at Haggerty Road.

The injured woman was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical condition. According to the police, alcohol does not appear to have played a role in the crash. The incident is currently under thorough investigation.
